Ignition Coil Modification?
Discussion
Just fit a more powerful coil, and shorten the charge time at the speeds/loads where you don't need the ignition energy. Coils are rated in terms of the Joules of energy they store (and hence release to the spark gap), this energy is largely a function of the charge current and the inductance of said coil.
Also worth remembering that the peak voltage limitation is often the maximum breakdown voltage of the coil driving transistor. if you use the same amplifier, a bigger coil may not actually deliver a greater energy if the transistor is the limiting factor in the peak flyback voltage.

The coil is for a 2 stroke bike which is very limited. There is a certain RPM band where I would like to make an increase and if this requires changing the inner working then that might be a route.
It seems to be very difficult finding a suitable company that can open this and work some magic on the RPM values.
Any help is appreciated fellas.
Thanks

Going back a few years (around 1976) Kawasaki realised they had a problem with 2 stoke plugs fouling on the big 2 strokes (H2 750 triple) so they came up with an odd solution, in so much that there was a magneto type system that produced more that 12 volts (I think it was 30 - 50 volts)that was then used to fire the coil with an electronic switch. I dont recollect if the voltage was stored, or used to fire the coil directly, but it produced some phenomenal secondary voltages, that could fire even the most fouled plug, but it produced lots of radio interference in the process.
