Hello All

I have a problem with my 2003 Hilux MK5, it's not starting.

Left the above vehicle standing for a 4 or 5 month, with a full tank of diesel and serviced ( cam belt, etc)

Two new batteries cranked the engine very nicely ( 2 day old)
Primed the fuel system by hand, hand pump go hard
Cranked the engine, no life

Removed pipe going to fuel filter from tank fuel in it.
Removed pipe going to engine from filter, pumped fuel coming out of pipe.

When I prim the system, the pump will go hard then soft again after a few instant ( less than 1 or 2 minutes)

My conclusion: It's a fueling issue
Question:
Should the pressure drops after a few instant?
What to look at next?

Anyone with a Toyota error code reader around Abingdon?

try cranking it with the fuel pipe disconnected after the pump to see whether the fuel pump is working.
establish whether the glow plugs are getting hot, you can usually hear the relay click on and off.
If all else fails spray a wee bit of easy start into the inlet after the filter. preferably whilst cranking.
