Fuel being forced out of the filler cap (Seat Leon)

I've got a weird problem with my Leon Cupra R, every now and then I get fuel being forced out of the filler cap which then runs down the side of the car.
The first time this happened the ECU light was triggered, this indicated a problem with a release valve that has now been replaced. I have had several other instances where the fuel has been forced out but no ecu ligth triggered, the dealer doesn’t seem to have much of an idea as why this is happening just wondered if anyone here has had the same problem ?
