Engine management code problem for BMW Z4

I've got an Alpina Roadster S and the engine management light has been on for a few weeks now. I originally took it to a local garage and he said it was because I am doing very short journeys. So I took it for a good drive and the light went off. A week or two later it came on again (I was doing only short journeys again) this time a long drive dig not take the light off.

So the local mechanic read the code and it was showing "7B Activation, map cooling" he didn't have a clue what this was so just wondering if anyone has had this before and what I should do, as I am trying to avoid paying a fortune at the stealer.
