MBE ecu for kitcar, tell me about it!
Discussion
Ive been considering re-engining from the 1900 CVH power engineering special on carbs, to Zetec on ITBs
Origanally I was planning to go with the Omex600 with bike TBs, but I have been offered a 'ready to roll' blacktop with Jenveys and an MBE and im considering going for it but know little about the MBE.
Thoughts are;
- How widely acccepted is the MBE to get remapped? (im in the north midlands)
- Is there any point in switching to EFI, rather than just fitting the engine with the 40's anyway?
- What is a ball park figure an second hand MBE 967 ecu.
Main reason for the swap is that I should the CVH let go mid-season I cant justify the downtime, or to replace it like-for-like, so want to move over to the now more avilable zetec out of season. The car is use for mixed road use and autotests.

Im sort of talking myself out of going down the injection route, as I dont really see the additional cost gaining me much over the carbs, but would be very interested in anyone else thoughts.
I had exactly the same thoughts was going down a ITB and and ECU route to upgrade my 24V in an Opel Monza
and then a set of carbs came up and luck found me a manifold to suit the engine and despite everyone I know saying it would run like a bag-o-s
te I carried on
Bloody marvelous
