Gearbox refurbishment

Hi
I need the gearbox on my MK3 Golf GTi refurbished. It crunches going into a couple gears.
I can remove/refit the box.

Does anyone know of anywhere in the West London/Surrey/Middlesex areas where I could drop it to for full refurbishment?

Are you sure its the gearbox? We had problems with a polo box and was a sleeve on the primary gear which is a common failure. It had snapped and caused the clutch to not disengage. £10 part and a new clutch ( as the box was out) and it cured the crunchy gears.

I had a new clutch fitted about a year ago but the problem selecting 2nd has always been there to some degree.

We have owned the car for 4 years and 2nd gear has got worse over time.

Naturally I cannot be 100% as it could also be linkage issues but I know the 2nd gear issue is a common problem on them.
