toyota avensis oil pump

hi all. on mway this morning doing about 70 mph .rattle from engine oil light comes on followed by engine light, all power goes. engine just spins over fast but will not fire up. recovery guy says oil pump works preshure on timing chaim, it has prob gone out of time and could have shot the valves .any idea if this could be right . would you suggest recon engine , or oil pump and sort out valves. motor has done 120,000 but was going great ,still averaging 38mpg .its a1800 petrol . look forward to your advice. I generally avoid engine diagnosis from behind a keyboard or in the pub, but I suspect that your motor is dead.

Be best to replace it with secondhand or recon.
