hi all,
I am trying find a product I can use to seal my turbo elbow to the downpipe with an o2 sensor downstream.

I have read about not using products no safe for sensors but can not found a product that can live so close to a turbo and not cure rock solid. can anyone help with product? thanks mark

Can't you use a gasket?

A properly linished and flat flange face should seal well enough anyway. A thin smear of Geocel Fire Block sealant rated up to 1500c might be your best option if it still leaks.

thanks pumaracing, will look up that brand.
The mating surfaces are good, but I thought go belt and braces to be on the save side.
cheers, mark

pumaracing is this stuff sensor safe as it looks to be a building product?

Loctite do a copper based silicone sealer.

Although I think your concerns over sealants that are not o2 sensor safe are a little too cautious.

Unless like some people you intend to empty the entire contents of the tube or tub into the engine or exhaust

Consider this.

Remove the sensor and replace with a bolt or an old U/S sensor to fill the hole.

Use the stuff on the Turbo-elbow-downpipe interface and run until sealant has cured. Then refit good O2 sensor.

thanks chaps. I have taken the decision to fit without sealant and make sure the exhaust is held inplace with bracers to the gearbox.
thanks Mark.
