Our Skoda Fabia makes a heavy dull clanking when slowly turned around reversing or forward, garage say it could be driveshaft worn, its going in for a new wheel-bearing so they will have a look at the driveshaft as well. Could it just be a CV joint though and would it really need a whole driveshaft.? Thanks

It will be the CV joint, which is part of the driveshaft. Should be no problem with replacing the CV rather than the entire shaft though.

Thank you Mr2Mike. I will query with the garage tomorrow as I don't want to have a whole component replaced if its only a CV joint needed.
