Hello All,

I'm having problems with an 03 Micra. The original battery died over the winter and I couldn't jump start it, so I bought a new one which worked fine last Sunday and it went for a good run out.

I tried to start the car up again today, completely dead.

I've googled it and there looks to be some sort of problem with the immobiliser or radio draining the battery on these Micras, does anyone know how I'd go about getting it fixed?

Also, would it be possible that the new battery was faulty and didn't hold its charge? It had a 4 year warranty, so I should be able to get it replaced I would have thought?

Any help appreciated.

Before thinking about battery drain you first need to confirm the alternator is charging.
Use a multimeter across the battery terminals and confirm there is better than about 14volts with the car running at a good bit higher than idle.

Hi, the car starts up fine after just 2 days of not being used, so I would think that the battery does get charged up when driving. It just doesn't stay charged.
