I see bent valves all the time, straightening is madness, if you X-ray the valve you will probably see stress fractures near the bend, bend back and these will lead to complete fracture and resulting Armageddon for your engine. The tougher the material the more likely it is to fracture when bent.

In nearly 50 years of mechanics I have never seen valve bent through replacing valve stem oil seals ------ oh except the ones where I [yes we all drop big ones] had not put rhe retaining collets in correctly and the two valves dropped on startup my fault my engine my pocket that took a big hit never ever think about straightening them !!!!!
