Hi,

The engine management light came on in my wifes 06 Citreon xsara picasso earlier this week. She drove it a couple more times and the light went out. I have now checked the ECU for fault codes and it has logged "P0238 Turbo/super boost sensor A circuit high input".

Please can someone enlighten me as to what could be wrong? Given that the light went out should I clear the code and see if the engine management light comes on again?

Thanks,

Ralph

Possibly a minor overboost at one point.

Clear it and drive away. It could just be a one off, or a lead up to a potential problem.

Cheers, code reset and a couple of drives undertaken with no issues yet (touch wood etc)...

Could be MAP sensor itself, faulty wastegate solenoid (common apparently) leaking pipework to said solenoid or at worst the turbo itself with sticking wastegate. I worked on one last year and it was the turbo.. very intermittent fault and awkward to diagnose!
