exhaust build questions

Hi chaps, I need a new exhaust and looking to ditch the cat at the same time. Now I can't find any off the shelf solutions so left with the option of building it myself, this isn't an issue in itself choosing the right diameters and such is. Can any of you learned gents point me in the right direction of some literature regarding exhaust design and its use in diesel tuning

Most certainly turbo to be exact a Mercedes 2.2 4 cylinder turbocharged diesel
