Hey guys,

My brother picked up an RX8 for dirt cheap and it has just dumped a lot of oil from one of the oil cooler pipes. It seems to be a known issue with them rusting up and leaking.

I have advised him to get some new high pressured hose and some earl connectors so we can fix it our selves (Mazda part is around £400!!)

I have been looking online and I have found the male connectors to go into the block, however am I right in thinking these will just slip inside the hose so we can then connect them to the male parts (ooh err)

Cheers

Try a visit to your local Pirtek they can likely copy the original while you wait for less than you can source the bits for.

Beat me to it.
Money well spent for a good working hose.
If you want fancy braided hose and red/blue anodised fittings then you will need to do them yourself.

Or if you fancy splashing the cash

It might be worth checking with Mazda to see if it had the oil pipe recall on it as they also modified the arch liners to reduce the amount of crud flying up onto the connections

I had fittings swaged to pipes by Hydrahose, much cheaper than main dealers
