Hi all, first of all I want to say what motor I've got, a 2011 Punto Evo Abarth 1.4 Turbo with 165Bhp. PIC below

Now I really do love the sound from my Abarth, a nice sporty/raspy sound so I don't want to change the backbox really. But I do find it abit quiet especially when inside, you realize when you get out, stand at the back and get a mate to rev it, it sounds immense! Which I want to hear more of! biggrin

So is there something I can do to the exhaust system that would make it louder but keep the same sound? Btw I don't know alot about exhausts so... But I have been told to maybe is it... a straight centre pipe and/or decat? But really I don't know what that will do and I want it to be legal of course.

Cheers.

In order to get the pretend racing car sound favoured by small boys, simply drill holes in the rear box.

Louder = more holes

Just leave it alone for a few years until you grow up a bit more at which point you'll realise that deliberately attracting plod's attention is not a sensible way of modifying cars.

Lift interior carpet trim, remove sound proofing.

Take out dash, removing sound proofing.

You'll get more of all noises though, but if it's already loud ish from outside it should just get the inside noises.

It'll be lighter and thus faster too! Also insurers can't see that as a mod = good too.

Win win win win!

Buy yourself a good quality big bore stainless steel system.
Then, when you get fed up of the noise, you should be able to get some money back on ebay.
