VW LT46 engine problem please help?

Good morning

I have a 2005 VW LT46 with an engine problem I can't get to grips with. Can someone please help me?

The symptoms are...

It idles fine, quiet and all seems well.

Start driving and everything feels and sounds fine...

But then there is a gradual loss of power with lots I white smoke. The engine comes back to life and the white smoke disappears. It is happening more and more now. Sometimes the engines is cutting out. If you start it all is well again.

I took it to a VW van dealer who checked the diagnostic machine and there was no fault codes. I bought and change a new EGR valve. It seemed to be fixed for 24 hours but it came back this morning.

Sugestions would be appreciated? Cheers

Check your oil level, too high could be over filled or leaking injector dripping fuel into the sump. Check the fuel filter, when was it last changed? They're supposed to trap water, if you have too much water in there you might be passing water through your injectors giving steam.
