Vauxhall X14XE engine tuning.

We hope to run a corsa with one of these engines next year in hillclimb, and although I've got a general idea of what I'm going to do, I was just wondering if anyone here has any experience tuning these engines? Corsa forums seem to full of illiterate folk so it's a bit fruitless asking there.

I've read some articles on these engines and they seem pretty tuneable without massive expense. I was just hoping someone had some first hand experience with them.


Also, in the unlikely event Pumaspeed does read this.... Where's your website gone?

Check this out SBD they do everything and anything for this engine i think upto 240hp so basically Maxi Kit Car territory ......

Yeah I've had a nosey around there. Haven't found any prices yet but I'm sure they're not pretty.

One thing I am struggling to work out is whether 1.4 and 1.6 cylinder heads are the same (except for camshafts). Does anyone know anything about this?

Hi. Ive built a few of the 14 and 16xes. Have one lad running one of my heads on jenveys on an otherwise stock engine making 140bhp@ fly on a 14xe doing well in his nova rally car.
