VAG AHF 110 camshaft and follower questions
Discussion
I need to pick some collective brains regarding damage to a cam lobe and regrinding/replacement.
It would appear that, after having had the rocker cover off (are they still called that?), the far right hand side lobe is damaged due to a damaged/disintegrated follower.
How difficult is it, and what specialist tools are needed, to replace a follower? Im happy doing service items, replacing fluids etc, but have never made changes to engine internals but would be willing to try.
If either a replacement cam is sourced or its reground and a new follower put in, is this a realistic alternative, as Im being persuaded to source a complete head at 250+ plus handing over 300 for labour.
What do you reckon?
