Spec me an electric pump that will do 120psi.

120 is for an old mechanical fuel injection on a rally mini cooper.

Thanks in advance.

How much flow do you need ?

120 is towards the upper end of what a Bosch 044 will readily do.

You could opt for the 10 bar motorsport version, but it's silly money, about 3-4 times the price of a normal 044...and allegedly they are just hand picked and tested 044's anyway

Cant remember the specific part number they give it

120 sounds pretty high, especially for an old setup

Just run two in series, problem solved! And, if you don't need a lot of flow, you can use el cheapo bosch pumps too rather than the expensive 044s.

It's not mine but is a 1275 Cooper running mechanical fuel injection belt driven from the camshaft. I've only seen boxes of bits including the original fuel pump which appears to be an adaptation of a windscreen wiper motor. This pump, by all accounts, runs rather hot and in its day had the fuel pipe wrapped around it for cooling...eeeek!!! I'm told 120psi is what the system requires.

Power wise I doubt it will come anywhere near out performing an 044.

Either should do fine.

044, or two lesser pumps in series to pump the pressure up

Whilst 125psi is within the limits for a single bosch roller cell pump (just) i wouldn't recommend it, as the high pump current will lead to rapid armature wear. Two lower flowing pumps in series means each pump is now only providing an easy ~60psi, with lots of headroom for the inevitable slightly un-even pressure sharing. If you get the pumps with threaded Inlets & outlets, making up a robust series system is each (unlike if you use the more normal push on connections:

ie pumps like this:

Pick a pump from an old small capacity mech injected (Bosch KE etc) car to get max pressure performance (say old (mk1) golf 1.8 Gti etc) and a low enough flow (i'm guessing you'll only be looking at fuel for around 130bhp tops?)
