Audi 01E 6 speed box

Does anyone here have any experience with this transaxle on a high power/high torque motor?
I have heard anecdotal stories of this box unmodified (2.7 diesel derived) of running and surviving >700BHP on slick tyres with no problems.
I haven't heard anyone quoting torque figures but I'm told there are people in the states running up to 1000 BHP through one of these boxes so the torque figure must easily be 650+ lbs/ft if true.

Try asking on S2forum.com they're std fit on the S2 and I've never heard of anybody breaking a gearbox, the rear diff or drive shafts give up first, and that's only usual on hard launches.
