'03 Clio 5 speed auto warning light

Good evening,
Bought a 2003 Renault Clio 5 speed seq. today and on the drive home the transmission warning light came on. Gears still moving, no limp mode, no grinding, banging or slipping.
Got off the auto strada and tried the clutch to see if it was slipping and no, nothing. just the light.
My question is; where do i start? Fault codes, then transmission fluid?
Any help appreciated.
