any oil in my oil filter?

plenty of oil pressure even on the starter [engine not fired up] plenty all over the top end in the rocker cover.

But only a dribble in the filter when removed.??

Nothing has been done since last run and filter change [it was as expected]

Some oil filters drain back to the sumo when the engine is not running, others have one way valves that prevent this from happening. Perhaps your filter doesn't not include one way valves..

I'm not familiar with this engine but I wonder if there is a bye-pass valve that is stuck open. This is a valve that would open if the filter became blocked and would allow (unfiltered) oil reach the parts.
