Any way of moulding these yourself? or do you need to join preformed sections?

Elaborate ?

Do you have the equipment and abilities to make your own silicone hosing ?

Or are you meaning something else ?

I would Google 'How silicone hose is made' to save yourself some embarrassment, it's quite an interesting process.

However, you can buy wire reinforced rubber and silicone hose which can be bent whilst holding their shape, I've seen the black rubber one which is specifically for coolant purposes use on foreign cars, not seen it for sale over here (because I haven't looked), but it must be for sale off the shelf somewhere. I've got a length of it kicking around and it's better than a cut length of silicone as it has moulded plain ends which pushes on and seals quite well.

No, I've no equipment/skills. smile

It's a heater hose. I'm deleting a recirculating pump, it's designed for a "Rest" function, to keep the cabin heater warm for 1/2 hr after stopping the engine.

It hasn't worked for years and is now leaking.

Using an elbow I can just rejoin the 2 hoses, but would rather just run a new hose. It's a tight spot with tight turns though.

If you can make a core, silicone hoses can be formed around it, and vulcanised. I've had it done myself in India

Yes that's it, the Vulcoflex is the one I was thinking of.

What do I win? I do hope it's an Easter egg.

A custom hose was never going to be cheaper ! lol

But Viper, Roosie, SFS etc etc can all make you custom hoses, at your expensive of course.

And as others mentioned, perhaps a little cheaper if you make the "die" so to speak that they will form any silicone hose around.

No I didn't think it'd be cheaper biggrin I'd just rather have a single hose instead of 2 with a joiner.
@ £30 for a heater hose I'll just live with a joiner. wink
