i have a 2004 peugeot expert, oil cap turns but does not come out, I dont want to force it. Any advice?

yes, push and twist.

I'm scared of forcing it and braking it as some of the bits might fall in the engine.

Are you a member of the AA or something similar? They might have experience of such issues and a method for removing a stuck cap.
