Ok dont judge me for what i own, we all have fetishes

I have an old mk1 (ev1) 806 (evasion/synergy/ulysses)

its diesel, and was originally sold with a semi electronic bosch pump, with the old needle lift sensor on injector 3

by the time i got it, it had spent all its useful life as a station taxi, and had been sold for scrap, and it literally was being used to collect scrap...

i bought it, and liked it, but then i found the engine had been changed for a mechanical pumped bosch system, may/may not be original engine, seems not to be original gear box, and 3rd has run away never to be seen, but often heard...

Anyhow, clutch gone, not worth fixing original box, engine very poor and tired, so its been pulled out

I have been gifted a 110 hdi c5, cars no good, engine/gearbox is fine, in fact its very similar, the dw10 is like a grandchild of the XUD, and the gearbox is another ml5 variant so almost the same, it should fit with minor mounting changes

Problem, c5 engine has stupidly over complicated electronics, it has an ecu, and a BSI unit, a BSM unit, and i will have to transplant it all, i dont mind, its only wiring, but... it wont play without talking to the abs...

I could move the abs, its only plumbing, but the wheel sensors will not mechanically work in the hubs i have

can i use a different and simpler ecu from another 110 hdi if i can find one, or find an abs it will communicate with that uses standard reluctor rings (the van can have those, but the c5 has magnetic ferrite wheel bearings, i cant fit them to mine, different diameter bearings)

its find a way or buy a bus pass, i know ive been a <insert your favourite> most of my life but no one deserves a bus pass

Could do with something that simulates the ABS CAN Messages driven from a Vehicle speed input. e.g. after market speedo input.

Would the old fuel pump and management run the new engine?
