Block/Head Testing Kit - Cheap or Expensive One??
Discussion
hi - i have a mystery water leak with none of the usual external/internal signs - lossing about 0.5L/wk.
it's a ford connect/tourneo & someone said it could be a faulty egr cooler however will need to eliminate head gasket anyway .
i've seen testing kits on Eb for £7 & others at £35 the main difference being that the expensive ones have a rubber bulb for sucking out the rad gases.
has anyone used them & could comment accordingly - cheers.

Be an idea to try a local garage & see if they'll do the sniffer test to test for combustion gases & a system pressurising test for you.
The latter test will often reveal a small hose leak on a cold engine which would go unnoticed on a hot engine as the escaping water would disappear instantly. May also show a gasket weep, a faulty cap etc.
OK so you'll have to pay them but you won't need to buy two lots of kit.
