*Help* Mk4 Golf Dogbone not liningup

My Dogbone recently snapped and noticed at the time the engine had seemed to of jumped forward. I have fitted a new Dogbone but the bolt holes don't match up.
Can someone please advise me

You can probably just tilt the engine to line it up (try giving it a good yank). Although the exhaust flexi looks mis shapen and may be holding the engine in the wrong position.

That exhaust flexy is well stretched & probably goosed, you need to lever/jack the engine to get the dog-bone mount lined up & HOPE the exhaust lasts, I suspect when you get the dog bone in the flexy will fail.

I would very strongly recommend checking all other engine/gearbox mounts at the same time as the engine shouldn't really move that much with one mount gone.

That is absolutely miles off, gawd knows how you've managed that, let alone snapping the dogbone! You might want to check the condition of the shoulder mounts as well, but something drastic happened to cause this. As above, witnessed by the fooked exhaust bellows.

And what's with the B&Q bolts securing it to the frame? What happened to the proper shouldered VW ones?

Possibly the result of going airborne and landing under fully throttle? Not that I would know anything about that sort of behaviour...

Seems likely. Always missing context these days. I bet there's a nice big fat witness mark in the bonnet!

I'd be checking the driveshafts too - the visible one looks to be at full deflection.
