Hello!

Can you tell me please the approximate maximum NOx production per litre of exhaust gases (so NOx concentration) per second of vehicle operation?

I know it varies alot, but I wonder what that value would be for normal large class vehicles, like Mondeo, Kuga, etc.

In other words, what is the maximum concentration of NOx in the feedgas per second? I am talking about regular diesel cars, not supercars or other monsters.

Thanks!

Ok, can you be more specific:

- Engine out concentration or tailpipe?
- Maximum concentration under any circumstances, or on a drive cycle (NEDC, WLTC, RDE)?
- under what environmental conditions - sea level & 25 deg C? Or up a mountain at some altitude and 10deg C? Or at really cold ambient (-25 deg C)?

Do you really want ppm? Without exhaust flow it is somewhat meaningless.

What is the purpose behind the question? Maybe if I understand that I can help (Diesel passenger car calibration engineer with 18 years so should be able to dig numbers up for you)

Euro 6 for passenger cars is 0.08 grams per kilometre max, regardless of vehicle size.
NEDC cycle is 11km, average of just over 34km/h, just under 10min.

I don't even want to know how much exhaust gas is generated per km, but it's not going to be small - it'll be well into cubic metres, so a vanishingly small amount of NOx per litre.

Question........... how do you measure Nox?

I mean, who has a meter?

You could build something to measure NOx yourself.
