Hi,

I would be very grateful if anyone could help suggest possible reasons for my car intermittently going into limp mode.

It used to do it once every month or so, but now it's doing it about every 10 days.

The EGR valve has been replaced and the manifold sensor has been cleaned out. It's been fully serviced with new filters. EGR fault and manifold sensor fault showed up using diagnostics, before they were fixed.

It tends to do it when we start off from home, after about half a mile or if I've been idling for a while or stopped suddenly. I can't get it to move more than 20mph or when it was really bad, at all. But if I turn it off for 5 mins, it will then start first time and be perfectly fine.

When it was particularly bad (when it would not move at all) the digital fuel display (where it tells me how many miles of fuel I have left) said I had less fuel than I did. When it started up again, the amount of miles left showing on the digital display, slowly increased.

It also often happens when the fuel tank gets down to a quarter full. In my old Zafira, if there was only a quarter tank of fuel left and you parked partially on the pavement, so the car was tipped, the car would not start. I've not had that with this Zafira, but I'm wondering if there is again some kind of fault that occurs when the tank only has a quarter of fuel left. Might be nothing to do with it, but just in case it does. I think it has done it though, when it's had more fuel in the tank.

Anyone had similar problems or anyone can think of possible causes?

Many thanks in advance smile

If it is going into a limp mode, there will be fault codes and undoubtedly a warning light.

What are they ?
