Hi I have a 76 MG b gt with a weber 45 dcoe carb and recently gave it bit of a hammering took it up to 110mph but it soon lost power and had to nurse it home. I done a compression test and all cylinders are fine also cleaned all the jets on the carb, can't drive above 2500 rpm please help if anyone has any thoughts..... Thanks

High fuel flows recently could have blocked ( old?) fuel filter...worth a thought. Good luck

I'd be checking the ignition system.

Maybe put the old dissy back on, don't forget leads, coils etc. Is the new one electronic?

I tend to one change at a time to evaluate.

Check that the auxiliary chokes at the rear havent come loose, if they have then the main jet feed is effectively blocked and you wont get over 2000 odd on the idle jets alone. There is a locking screw that holds them in place.
