Ford PowerShift Transmission Problems
Discussion
My cousin has recently brought a 2013 Focus with the Powershift transmission.
After a month or so of use, he has started to notice in some conditions the gear box judders. It is really hard to replicate and only once has he managed to do this with a representative from the garage on board.. when this did happen he was told that it was a fault with the gearbox and it would need to be replaced! He is not that well off and is just about to have their second child so in no way can they afford to replace the gearbox.
It is just under the 3 month warranty from the garage however as it sounds like it is a manufacturing fault, I doubt very much that the warranty will cover the costs.
Reading up a bit - it seems as though this is a known problem with Ford and in OZ they have recognised it and are offering to fix the 'boxs.

Has anyone here had similar problems and what have they done? Have they managed to get Ford to cough up and pay for a repair or new gearbox?

If not this what do you think the warranty is there for?If it under warranty, job #1 take it back to the garage where it is under warranty & do it quickly.

The seller's representative has acknowledged the fault. It is under warranty. The seller is liable for correcting the fault. What's the problem?told that it was a fault with the gearbox and it would need to be replaced!

The problem is that if the warranty company deems that the problem is a manufacturing fault .... which is what they are saying, and at the same time Ford are saying it is not their problem (in this country anyway). As such my cousin who needs the car to keep running reliably is going to have to fork out for at least a new clutch pack and seals or possible a new g/box.
