renault laguna gearbox rattle
Discussion
i bought a used laguna 1.9 dci deisel yes it deffinetly used 175000 miles so was expecting a few problems it changes gear like a high millage car stays in gear and runs very well but makes loud rattle from gearbox area when going allong unevan roads i am no expert but i think its either main bearings differential or both is this likely to self distruct
If it rattles when going over uneven roads it will be a suspension/mount type issue.
Could be ARB drop links, could be ERB bushes, could be engine/gearbox mount, could even just be something loose in that area.
Only way to narrow it down is to get underneath & find it by use of pry-bar/mallet etc until you find what makes the noise.
