VW Passat 2007 2.0 TDI sport DPF issue.
Discussion
Hi All,
The DPF on my colleagues Passat has been to the garage and had the DPF cleared. However after 90 miles the light is back on.
I said to him I am definitely sure that isn't right and would consult your collective motoring wisdom for any advice.
We are not interested in just taping over the light or programming the DPF out for obvious reasons.
Thanks in advance

What EXACTLY does this mean?
If it has been removed & properly cleaned then that definitely isn't right, there are other steps in between that could have been done instead, more info needed.

If they just forced a regen then that would come as no surprise. If it has been removed & properly cleaned then that definitely isn't right, there are other steps in between that could have been done instead, more info needed.
If the DPF needed cleaning, that could indicate that either the car is being used in a way which prevents the normal self-cleaning program for working as intended, or there is some other fault on the engine causing excess contamination. Just cleaning/replacing the DPF doesn't address the underlying problem.

It could be one of the pressure sensors playing up. It really needs scanned to see what the fault codes are as well as what the DPF loading is. It might be past the level where a normal regen will work.
He has already had the sensor replaced. He is taking it back to the garage tonight. So hopefully they will pick up the code. Edited by cuprabob on Tuesday 5th June 15:34
