i drive a 2004 petrol honda Accord 2.0 litre (manual)

I need to change the Engine oil now as its done 10k since the last change,i was advised by some to use 0W-20 Castrol e/oil but I can seem to get any as what I can get from europarts is 0w-30 (right now there is a sale as well so cheaper)

can someone tell me difference between 0w-20 and 0w-30 oil and if its ok to use 0W-30 ?

The left number is the cold rating. The lower the number, the thinner the oil will be when cold. This affects how the engine will be lubricated during a cold start.

The right number is the hot rating. The lower the number, the thinner the oil will be when hot. This affects how the engine will be lubricated at normal running temperature.

I don't know what the manufacturer recommended for your engine so I can't tell you whether either of these are suitable, but the difference between them is not huge.

Who was the "some" who advised you?

Ultimately there is only one source I would use for advice on oil for an engine...... The manufacturer, ring your local main dealer.

Contact Opie oils,

they supply it, and will probably advise you what you actually need for your engine
