Squeaking Noise
Discussion
Howdy ho, not sure if this is the right place but I need some car help. I have a Corsa D 1.7 CDTi (2011) and it won't stop squeaking. It only does it when the car is under load, starts quietly at 1000rpm then stops just after then again just before 2000rpm which is louder then stops a little over then again at 3000rpm. It doesn't do it when revving the car parked up. I've changed the auxiliary belt, checked all boost hoses and exhaust and even had half the engine bay stripped out today to get to the exhaust manifold and everything seems fine, no signs of leaks, turbo looks perfect so that's not the culprit either. I did have the flex pipe repaired last month cause it was doing the same sort of thing but alot louder. The car was quiet for a day then it started again. Its driving me mad. Just can't seem to find anything. There's no loss in power and drives absolutely fine so I'm stuck. Please help before a smash the car to bits.
Thanks.
Thanks.

If it's a similar noise and the work you did last time cured it temporarily, then I'd say that's the area you should be looking.I've Literally douced it in soapy water and nothing. It's not the same noise, just happens at the same RPMs which leads me to belive its the exhaust but I can't find any leaks. Doing my nut in. Thinking of taking the whole exhaust off and going over it with a fine toothed comb, not literally.

I'll have a look at those and see, how will I know if they're faulty? Shouldn't they get flagged up in an MOT?
Really, you need to try to move the engine/gearbox with the car securely supported if you are underneath.Use a long lever/prybar trying to move the engine/gearbox in all directions and look closely at the mounts as you do so, also looking to see how much the engine moves by.
An MOT tester should be doing this, but may not be bothered by an early squeak.
Think... THINK?! I've found the culprit. Seem the last mechanic who worked on my car didn't tighten the downpipe to the cat tight enough, also the flex pipe welds are slightly scorched. Just covered it all in Gun Gum so hopefully by tomorrow afternoon it'll be dried so I can test it. Fingers crossed.
