Ford C-Max gearbox code help please

Hi,

Ford C-Max 62 plate 1.6 diesel 6 speed manual gearbox has broken up, the code on the gearbox is AV6R7002GG. Could anyone please help with identifying a gearbox that would fit, does the regular Ford Focus with the same engine do ok even if it has a different code? Or even a different vehicle entirely?

How can I decode please?

Don't have a better code than what you do, but the box is common to Focus & C-Max 1.6 TDCi 2011 onwards (think the ratios are specific to the 1.6TDCi).

Why not just get one with the same code, or have your own repaired ?

Or if you find a friendly Ford dealer, they might be able to tell you if the same box is available, or indeed if there are other variants that can work.
If they are less friendly, just go in to price the gearbox, but also fish for information as to whether there have been any upgrades or superseded variations of it with later models in case there had been problems which might hint as to other options.
