Hi Piston Heads,

Just a quick run down: I have a 2015 Renault Clio MK4 RS 200 EDC which had clunking noises. I have already taken it into the dealership service centre where they performed a software update, relearn adaptives and a readjust clutch touch points. The noises have gotten less but still not gone but that is besides the case.

The problem is today I am driving along in: Normal Mode (Manual) 5th gear going about 60km/h, start to press the brake pedal fast to come to a stop, let the car computer downshift on its own, you will notice a lurch/jump at around 3rd or 2nd gear during the downshift. — Anyone who wants to try see if there car does it aswell just follow the steps above.

From my speculation it seems that when the car computer downshifts by itself, during the downshifts it does not rev-match, instead the rpms just drops lower on each gear drop which I think is causing the jerk/bump. Or maybe the clutch is being disengaged due to the brakes being pressed but is not re-engaging when the computer downshifts.
— Anyone get the same issue here when trying it or is it only me? Does anyone know how to fix it? Why is it when you brake and let the car downshift itself in manual mode it does not do it properly but in automatic mode it’s perfect?
