Silencing a BOV
Discussion
Hi, my car (Newage WRX) has an aftermarket loud BOV (turbosmart) and even when driving relatively sedately it attracts a lot of attention which was fine at the start when I got the car but now a few months on has become a bit grating.
I'm looking for ways to make it quieter, I can't refit the OEM BPV valve and plumb it back into the air intake as the cars been mapped with the valve venting the excess metered air to atmosphere so putting it back into the intake will create a lean condition.
Wondered if anyone has some ideas, would changing the shape of the trumpet on the end help or venting it into a muffler of some sort?
Cheers.

As said the vent from the BOV should be fed back into the intake of the car, pre-turbo.
If your car uses a MAF the map won't take into account the air expelled by the BOV so will cause no issues piping it back in.
If it has a MAP sensor it doesn't matter either way.
If anything venting to atmosphere will be causing your car to run rich as the air lost through the BOV is not measured
