Mk1 ford transit campervan engine, gearbox, rear axel swap.

Hi all
I have a rust free Mk1 transit camper van with mk2 front wings, bonnet and grille.
I want to replace the v4 2l essex engine petrol/lpg, gearbox, prop, and rear axel with a 2.3 dohc system from an 03 petrol transit which I have been offered as a rusty mot failure.

Has anyone any experience of this please or any part of this please?

I am sure it is possible & has likely been done before but as the modern engine is a modern engine you will need wiring loom/ECU and much more to consider than just the engine & 'box.

It could be a pretty big job.
