Oil Cap

Hi,

Probably a basic question but can I open the engine oil cap whilst the engine is still hot (90) but turned off - so turning engine off after a drive and then instantly opening the oil cap.

I assume this will cause no issues?

That is perfectly fine.

I assume you are checking for a pressurised crank case or something like a blocked breather system?

Just be cautionary of possible hot oil ejection.use a rag over the cap.

Highly unlikely when he has the engine turned off.
