Hi all, just a quickie in case there is a common fault that I should be looking out for.

I stress that, as yet, I haven't had the chance to look at this & will obviously be checking what I consider to be likely candidates, but thought I would ask the PH massif in case there is a regular offender.

My Son's '08 C4 1.6 petrol Picasso 7 seater pulled out of my drive this afternoon & sounded like the engine was trying to escape!

When the revs dropped as the clutch bit there was a sound that I can't really describe as otherwise really.

It was definitely engine speed rather than wheel speed related & just sounded like I would expect a failing engine/gearbox mount to sound.

Sorry I can't be more specific or upload a video as he was leaving as stated above.

Any additional advice will be gratefully received.

Dual mass flywheel on the way out can sound horrible. If it's engine torque related you may be able to reproduce when stationary pulling against the brake - if so, it should be easy to locate the source.

That is my worst thought & apparently the clutch is reasonably new so hopefully not the case & it only happens for a couple of "bangs" as the drive is taken up, so I am hoping to replicate it again as you suggest, thanks.
