Good wheel bearing grease?
Discussion
I’m re-building the front and rear axles on my car. I’m fitting brand new taper bearings in clean everything and just need a pointer on a good wheel bearing grease to use. There seems to be quite a choice available so don’t want to choose something and find its unsuitable once the axles have been put back together.
Cheers in advance

Thank you for all the quick replies
the bearings I ordered were not part of a repair kit but are good quality. The hubs I’m rebuilding were originally packed full and the hubs do have an additional grease nipple to apply grease once built. Is it good practice to pack the hub then top up via the nipple once built or just give the bearings a light coat of grease then top up via the grease nipple? Also are there any differences between brands when choosing a lithium based grease?
Again thanks for any help and advice

I'm old enough to remember when the only grease anyone ever had in their workshop was a 500 ml tub of Castrol LM and that got used on everything except rubber. Nowadays greases are all sorts of weird colours. Blue, red, grey. I like my grease to be grease colour.
I agree, that was exactly my thought until I had a look at what’s now available. I actually have a small amount of Castro LM but not enough to pack all 4 hubs. I have a powr lok diff that also needs refilling and the choice of fluid for that is also vast.
I thought ask the audience so to speak
to which I’m grateful. DeadCatWalking said:

I still have a tub of Castrol.....although it's been sitting there that long, it's more of a gooey mess. And as it's a plastic tub, was also broken lolSo a bit more modern than an old metal tub.
When I changed the wheel bearings on my trailer...just couldnt bring myself to use any of it as it looked so bad, so had to get another tub. Comma this time...metal so it wont break.
