Fiesta ST struggling with 1st & 3rd gear

For the past few months, my fiesta st has been having some issues with 1st gear. I try to change into it and its like its physically blocked, i haven't tried forcing it and if i drop back into neutral it then goes into 1st fine.

I've noticed this happens when im either at a very low speed pulling upto some traffic lights on my commute (bad habit that im trying to stop) and sometimes when im stopped completely with my foot on the brake pedal. I'm fairly certain this only happens when the car is still cold.

I have done the typically male thing and tried to ignore the problem till it went away but the last few days its started to happen to 3rd gear too, which due to being done at a much higher speed is a real problem, not to mention getting me concerned something is degrading.

Should i be worried?

Could be the box, could be a clutch issue, or you might be incredibly lucky and an oil change may help.
