Bit of a run down. Driving a seat mii. doing autotest/autosolos its dailyed and is driven to and from events.
iv just very recently added a oil temp guage thats mounted in a sandwich plate. Driving on the road, the oil will sit at about 75deg c but the coolant will be at 90 deg c. Iv noticed after the last event i did the oil temp did rise to 95. Is the low oil temp during every day driving, somthing i should worry about.

You mention a sandwich plate. This suggests you have added an oil cooler. Is it oil-to-air? If so, does it use a stat?

It dosnt have a oil cooler. Sandwish plate was to fit the sensor. I can fit oil temputure ,oil pressure and a oil feed for a turbo which i dont use.

Pretty sure they have OBD readout for oil temp. Have you checked this to see if it correlates?
What type of oil cooler are you using? Is it thermostatic? Etc etc.

not enough information I'm afraid.

I wouldn't worry about it. I suspect you'll find that the oil is getting a lot hotter in other parts of the engine. In any case, what are you proposing to do about ? It's not as if you can remove oil cooling, since you don't have any.

OP, I've had temps like that from a car that held to much oil due to having a big wing sump. It ran at those sort of temps until I started buzzing at over 100 mph.

Is it over filled? i wouldn't worry about the temps.

a colleague and I refer to this as "oil pressure gauge syndrome" - something that almost certainly entirely normal behaviour and you'd never think to be concerned by it suddenly becomes a big concern when you start looking at it.

Bear in mind that in VAG cars (and many/all? others these days) that's not usually an actual temperature reading - it's just the ECU saying "OK". I think you can modify them to show the actual temp.

I know it's a very different vehicle, but wife's diesel Tiguan displays the oil temp in the cluster display and once it's hot (takes about a dozen miles in her car) the oil sits around 100C but it's up and down a few degrees constantly - the water temp gauge never budges from 90C.
