I'm currently putting a carb back together after refurb.
The instructions say I need to use Curil to seal the float bowl screws and others shown. I have the Curil, but where do I put it?
Is it just under the head of the screws or along the threads...or both? Never done this before.
Thanks.

Any evidence of where sealant was applied from when it was taken apart?

I haven't done that job so I don't know the correct answer, but if you aren't using threadlock I would use the sealant on the part of the thread which engages with the carb body, to stop fuel seeping past the thread and out what may be an open hole at the bottom. I don't know whether it is also necessary to seal the screw head to the float chamber but it seems harmless to do, so I'd add a smear round the bottom of the screw head too. I assume the screws are a clearance fit where they pass through the bowl so pointless trying to seal them there.

There didn't appear to be any sealant on it when taken apart.

The float bowl screws go into blind holes so I just put a little curil under the screw heads.
Whether it will do any good I don't know, but there's no leaks thumbup
