Rover su inlet Information inquiry

Hi all we are currently installing a rover v8 with su carbs in a p100 for a friend almost finished the conversion but have encountered a slight problem once filled with Coolant we have had coolant comeing out of what we thought was a vac pipe on the front part by carbs of the inlet our question is what is the pipe and where does it go ? Thanks in advance.

Back into the expansion/header tank, it looks like that will be the highest point on the engine, and is to allow any air to be expelled, rather than forming an airlock.

You could alternatively put a bleed valve on it.
