Mazda CX-2 2.2 Diesel - occasional stutter at speed

my 2015 2.2 Mazda CX5 diesel has started, occasionally, stuttering when driving at speed (5th / 6th gear).
I can drive for a few hours and it maybe happens once but it's a noticeable stutter. For the driver, it feels like something is catching for a second or two.
No engine management lights have ever appeared.
Other forums suggest likely MAP or MAF sensor.
Not knowing much about cars, I was hoping someone could advise? Is there an easy fix?
