Hi all,

I need to replace the driveshafts on my 2009 Seat Exeo ST. GKN parts from EuroCarParts are £620 for the two together, or I could get these for just £120.

What's the consensus on stuff like this? I normally go to EuroCarParts for most things, it's rare I need something so expensive to be honest.

Thanks!

I bought a brand new driveshaft for our van recently for £70, its been fine for 10k miles now. Only reason I bought a full shaft is because the CV gaiter had split on the old one, parts v time I thought it was the best value.

I’ve used j&r driveshafts on my passat. ~£80 for the pair and they’ve been fine so far.

Thanks both, I'll give them a go... even if they fail after a third of the distance it's cheaper and keeps me busy...

I can't understand how J&R make any money - I've used their shafts on 4x cars now, they've all been perfectly reliable for at least 20k miles and cost a fraction of other options.

I have a J&R driveshaft in the garage waiting to go on the wife's A class - i think it was £76 delivered & looks well finished. Bargain.

Because they pay £5 for a Chinese joint.
You'd be shocked just how cheap Chinese parts are when you buy enough of them.

True, but I usually expect things like that to be made of chocolate - a couple of hot hatches I've had with fairly modest CVs have both had death including track days and were no bother at all.

So to get a whole shaft with new bearings, boots and a joint for 30-odd quid seems crazy value.
