My c2 diesel went into slow mode so I got a garage to fix it they told me the computer said it needed a new injector for £120 and had my car for 5 days and charged me nearly 400 quid .I picked it up and it ran ok for 2 days then started running bad at idle tick over I spoke to garage and they told me the injector needs to be worked in and to contact then after weekend I basicly assumed I'd been ripped off and made do with it cos I need it every day for work then it started leaking fuel it got worse and worse I took it to a different garage and asked them to sort the leak which they did and charged me 55 quid which I thought was good they should of noticed how bad it was running but said nothing to me not sure why . Anyway I'm thinking the first garage had my eyes out charged me a fortune for driving it about to clear the exhaust sensor so the car would run at normal speed cos the injectors are hard to get to u have to dismantle loads to get them out cos engine so crammed

Definitely a hard read.

But computers do not tell anyone they need a new injector, and yes you probably have been ripped off by the first place.

And utter BS whatever "injector needs to be worked in" is supposed to mean

Mechanic here, I own a business specialising in PSA cars (yours).

Sounds like first place got a misfire error code or the injector loom error and went straight to changing injectors.

The injector loom needs unclipped and moved to the side to change the oil filter on your engine and a common fault after service is misfire/injector error due to the wires being moved about, it's so common they should have started here rather than most expensive part first.

You made your choice and their bill is their bill, they did the possibly unnecessary work you agreed to. They did however fk it up a bit in that they tried to reuse the copper crush washers or didnt use a torque wrench and it leaked as a result.

Just learn from it in my opinion anything else is just grief for little recompense. If you dont know yourself then go to the best mechanic you can, not the cheapest.

I would re-word that to go to the most reputable and competent....and get multiple honest opinions where possible..

But as we all know here, those do seem extremely hard to find.
