Can anybody give a sure answer to this ? Car failed on CO emissions at fast idle 0.36 and should be below 0.30. Will be doing oil change , recommended cataclean and Italian tune up before taking it back . It’s a jap import micra so should really be running super (97ron). Would I be better off with this ? The new E10 boasts about lower emissions; should I stick with this ?
Many thanks

I'd run some 99ron through it, V-Power and also put some engine treatment in the fuel.

Your car is 20% over the emissions target. Even if the Ethanol has zero CO2 in it (which I doubt), it would have 5% less than E5.

So I'm pretty confident the emissions failure is not going to be solved by going to a different pump.

£20 in the ashtray would be the easiest way.

Give it a tank of super and a 100 mile run up the motorway just before the MOT so its nice and hot. or use it as the excuse you need to get out of a Micra. hehe

Lower emissions with E10 means lower net CO2 emissions as the CO2 taken out of the air when growing the crops that are a feedstock for ethanol production. It has nothing to do with what comes out of your tailpipe.

If you are driving a car that is designed for high octane fuel, then feed it the high octane fuel it needs.

Was the Mot testing centre aware the car was an import? So they can test it on a like for like? I agree to give it a good drive and drop it off nice and hot.
